If small facial veins, age spots, or other facial discoloration makes you duck your head when you see a mirror, you don’t have to live like that any longer. At Utopia Med Spa, Franklin Rose, MD, offers intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments so you can fade stubborn discoloration, including rosacea, with no downtime and no peeling. Click the online scheduler or call the Houston office to arrange your IPL photofacial now.
An IPL photofacial uses controlled light pulses to correct skin discoloration and enhance skin tone. The Cutera Xeo® LimeLight photofacial targets photodamage, which is skin damage from long-term sun exposure. LimeLight photofacials at Utopia Med Spa are completely noninvasive.
LimeLight photofacials can reduce or remove:
LimeLight also enhances skin tone and overall appearance.
IPL photofacials can treat your face, neck, and décolletage areas. You can treat multiple areas in one treatment session if needed.
If you’ve got vascular or pigmented lesions on your upper body, you could be a great candidate. An ideal candidate has skin type 1, 2, or 3.
If you have skin type 1, you have ivory skin, light eyes, and red or blonde hair. In the sun, you sunburn very easily, always peel, and never tan. Your skin always freckles after sun exposure.
If you’ve got skin type 2, your skin is fair or pale and your eyes are green, blue, or gray. Your hair is naturally blonde, and you rarely tan. You get sunburns and peel frequently (but not always) and have a tendency to freckle after sun exposure.
With skin type 3, your skin is fair to beige and you have naturally golden undertones. Your eyes are hazel or light brown, and your hair is a dark blonde or light brown. When you’re in the sun, you occasionally get sunburned, but you tan sometimes. You may or may not freckle in the sun.
If your hair and eyes are naturally medium brown or darker (skin types 4, 5, and 6) your Utopia Med Spa aesthetic care provider may recommend an alternative treatment like Laser Genesis.
After treatment, pigmented lesions grow a bit darker before fading away over the next week. You’ll gradually reabsorb the vascular lesions and flush them out, as well.
You’ll have a mild sunburn sensation after your photofacial, but you can use quality hydrating products to soothe any minor discomfort. There’s zero downtime, and no peeling either!
