Restylane Q & A

What is Restylane?

Restylane, like the Juvéderm® fillers, is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler for volume restoration and facial enhancement. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your body but your natural hyaluronic acid decreases as you age.

Restylane can replace the volume you’ve lost or can enhance your face in other ways with completely natural-looking results. There are a range of Restylane products, each with its own unique uses.

Where can I get Restylane in my face?

The main areas for Restylane treatment are:

Nasolabial folds and marionette lines

The nasolabial folds, the long lines sometimes called smile lines, and the marionette lines that cover either side of your chin are common complaints for men and women as they age.

Restylane, Restylane Refyne®, Restylane Defyne®, and Restylane Lyft® can all used for facial wrinkles, and they last around 18 months on average.

The lips

There are two Restylane formulas for lips: Restylane and Restylane Silk®. Restylane Silk corrects fine lines around the mouth, shapes the lip line, and adds a small amount of volume. Restylane offers more dramatic lip enhancement. Both last around six months.

The midface

The midface, particularly the cheeks, often grows thin with age, and Restylane Lyft® gives you volume along with a subtle lift. Restylane Lyft lasts for at least 12 months in the midface, possibly for longer.

Restylane may also be injected in other areas, such as the hands. Restylane Lyft is currently the only hyaluronic acid product that’s FDA-approved for injection in the hands, where it can restore volume to prevent that skeletal look.

How does the Restylane treatment process work?

FIrst, your Utopia Med Spa provider evaluates your face and discusses a Restylane treatment plan with you. They may mark a pattern on your face for use as an injection guide.

After your provider cleans your treatment site, they may apply a topical anesthetic or ice pack if needed. Most Restylane include lidocaine, an anesthetic that numbs during the injection, so most patients tolerate treatment quite well.

Treatment time is usually just minutes. Following your injections, your Utopia Med Spa provider cleans your face gently. There’s zero downtime with Restylane treatments.

Restylane can give you immediate volume or contouring. Get the results you want now by calling the Utopia Med Spa office or booking online.
